None of my close friends have had weddings or baby showers. Sigh. I’m ready to be somebody’s bridesmaid or godmother. Grow up, you guyzzzzzzzz. Sheesh.
You don’t want to let go, but don’t want to be hurt, either. It’s not a great place to be but what can I tell you?
You whispered my full name and we fell asleep in each others arms and I remember how the next morning you were gone, completely gone, and nothing in my bed or the house could have proven otherwise.
the first gif is my life though
In an effort to keep Father’s Day holy, I will wash my own car today.
I’m finally arriving at the point
where I realize that my biggest critic
and supporter is God.
Everything I pen
is a thank you letter to Him.
I stumble over my feet a lot
and I often feel like I’m on the wrong track,
but writing is the only time
I feel God’s hands tugging on the strings of my heart
urging me to fly
He will come to you,
half shadow, half superman,
pieces of his heart shoved into his back pocket,
the other parts of himself scattered
among the bones of past relationships.
He will wear insecurities
around his neck like gold chains,
tuck his thoughts under fitted caps,
and hide “I love yous” beneath his tongue
like razor blades.
He will want to be everything and nothing like his father,
wear manhood like a fedora
he can take off and place on the back of the couch
when no one’s looking.
He will kiss you until
you can’t tell the difference
between vulnerability and virility.
Even his tears will taste like testosterone.
He will wrap himself around you like the leather belt
on the waist of the man he will always wish to hate,
whisper in your ear and call you Home, but
deny you three times like Peter
if you dare speak it aloud.
When he lays his pride out for you like a red carpet,
remove your shoes and walk gently.
There are some men who have never seen the sun
bounce off the skin of a woman who loves them.
They will see the glare,
but reject the luminance in your eyes.
Love them anyway.
